Planning Your Container Layout

Before selecting mining hardware, confirm that your container infrastructure meets the baseline requirements below. These figures are drawn from assessments we have conducted at yards across South Korea and represent practical minimums — not theoretical ideals.

Container Length

20-foot units support 8–12 miners; 40-foot high-cube units support 20–28 miners depending on rack configuration and aisle clearance.

Rack Depth

Standard 600mm server racks accommodate most ASIC chassis. Verify rear clearance of at least 100mm for cable routing and exhaust airflow.

Power Supply

Plan 3.5–4.0 kW per miner at sustained load. A 24-unit 40-foot container requires a minimum 100 kW service with 20% headroom on breaker panels.

Intake Airflow

Provide filtered intake louvers on the prevailing wind side. Minimum open area: 1.5 square meters per 10 miners for passive intake configurations.

Exhaust Capacity

Size exhaust fans for 3.4 CFM per watt of total mining load. Add 20% margin for summer ambient temperatures above 30°C.

Noise Threshold

Rural sites in Gyeonggi and Chungcheong typically face 55 dB(A) limits at the property boundary. Measure before permit submission, not after installation.

Floor Loading

ASIC miners weigh 12–18 kg each. A fully loaded 40-foot rack row may exceed 500 kg per linear meter — confirm floor reinforcement with your container supplier.

Minimum Hashrate

We assess hardware rated at 0.05 PH/s and above. Below this threshold, per-unit infrastructure overhead typically makes container deployment uneconomical.

Environmental Thresholds

South Korea’s climate imposes seasonal constraints that spec sheets ignore. During our field assessments, we record these ambient conditions and adjust recommendations accordingly:

  • Summer (June–August): Ambient temperatures at container intake can reach 35°C. Exhaust systems sized for 25°C spring conditions will underperform.
  • Winter (December–February): Intake louvers may ice over in Gangwon and northern Gyeonggi sites. Heated intake screens or adjustable louver dampers prevent cold-start failures.
  • Monsoon (July): Elevated humidity reduces evaporative cooling effectiveness. Ensure electrical connections inside the container are rated for IP54 or higher.
